All the bus stops in the Nieuwstraat/Neustraße are ‘European blue’ and some of them have yellow stars on them – all 12, or one less, sometimes two. There are a couple of bus stops with no stars at all – or not anymore.

The redesign of the street has amplified the border as much as it attempts to communicate its absence. The active erasure—present in the numerous references to the past of the street, as well as its current status as a ‘European street’ or shared street—has the opposite effect on me.
